The season has started, flag raising was a huge success even though the weather wasn't supposed to cooperate, what do they know. Carl and The Filthy Crickets did a wonderful job setting a perfect tone for the afternoon-thanks again Carl. It's great having Ham around to answer any questions and help coordinate the timing for all the activities.
I would like to thank all the volunteers who showed up to the spring cleanup and got the club looking like a landscaped showcase, special thanks to Sue Wilcenski for designing the new planting beds and everyone else who stepped up and did a little extra to make the club look so great.
Most of the renovations have been completed and the manager’s office is now upstairs, the new showers in the junior club house are almost completed thanks to the work of Carl Skeris who donated all his time, and worked with Russell Skeris, who I must also compliment on the great job that he did. The old managers office is now loaded with merchandise that is on display, so if you are interested in purchasing any of it, ask Arlene or Kurt to show it to you. If there is anything you don't see and would like, get in touch with Janet Jurgielewicz and she can order it for you.
As we keep saying, The Leiter Sailing event is getting closer and we need volunteers, sponsors, and small power boats to make this another successful Yacht Club sailing event, please step up and help us out. In my past “Commodores Corners" I've been writing about the numerous amount of events we have planned for this summer, now that the log is out you can see what I mean, I think that these events will be very successful and well attended, so I recommend getting your reservations in early.
I am looking forward to the warm weather and great scenery with good friends, hope to see you all down there!
